Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi of Ebonyi has flayed the alleged social media reports, claiming that he is working against the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Perer Obi.

Governor Umahi’s rebuttal is contained in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Uchenna Orji, and made available to newsmen in Abakaliki on Friday.
He described the reports as the handiwork of “frustrated political jobbers”.
Also on Friday, The General Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church in Lagos, Pastor Tunde Bakare, denied reports in some section of the media that he had endorsed the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for 2023 general elections.
In a statement issued on the twitter account of the The Citadel Global Community Church tilled "Statement on CAN and APC attributed to me is a FABRICATION" the APC presidential aspirat in the 2023 primaries of the ruling party also denied claims that he criticized the Christian Association of Nigeria.
Mr. Orji in his statement said Governor Umahi "deeply appreciates Obi’s courage in his campaign."
“The governor is a member of the All Progressives Congress and shall support the party in all their state and national elections as a good party man.
“He believes that political party members should defend their parties during elections and people will freely vote for candidates of their choice,” the statement added.
On the part of Pastor Bakare, the Clergy man called on the public to disregard the alleged statements as there were not his and do not represent his position. Also, he challenged anyone with evidence that he actually made the statements credited to him to make the evidence public.
